Pennsylvania Nursing Degree Programs

In Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State Board of Nursing has set certain standards for the approval and operation of nursing education programs for the nursing students. They also prepares and distributes an annual list of all approved programs.

To attract more nursing students and working professionals for higher studies, Pennsylvania has developed special financial assistance programs to allure nursing students to study and work in the state, including loan forgiveness or repayment program, educational grants, and a scholarship program.

There are almost 100 nursing schools, community colleges, technical and vocational schools and teaching hospitals that offer degree programs, Ph.D, Doctoral programs, Masters Programs, an accelerated second degree BSN, associate nursing programs, BSN and MSN degrees to nursing students.

University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University in Philadelphia, Widener University in Chester, Villanova University,  the University of Pittsburgh, , Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Waynesboro College in Canonsburg, Allegheny Valley Hospital in New Kensington or teachings at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in Johnstown are major nursing degree program study centers.. Other town and cities such as Millersville, Indiana, Hazleton, Scranton and many others also host a number of nursing degree programs through schools and community colleges.
