If you are willing to pursue CNA program in Oregon, then it is wise to remember that The Oregon State Board of Nursing safeguards the public’s health and well being with regulations, employment, guidance for and safe practice.

Oregon Nurse Practice Act evaluates and determines certification requirements, nursing training programs, competency evaluation, maintenance of nursing aide registry and CNA training courses. They also supervise renewal of certification, investigate and check complaints and abuse, by taking disciplinary action against nurses and CNA, who violets Oregon Nurse Practice Act.

Any student will to join certified nursing course, will have to appear and clear state’s two exams for certified nursing aides’ certification. These exams are CNA-1 and CNA -2.

• CNA- 1- Any college or schools CNA training includes 75 hours of classes and labs as well as 75 hours of clinical practice in a skilled nursing facility.
• CNA 2 – This training consists of 40 hours of coursework and labs in addition to 24 hours of clinical rotations in assisted living institutions, intermediate care settings, nursing homes and hospitals.

Completing, the first CNA course leads to state certification as a level one CNA and allows enrollment into a level two CNA class. On completion of both courses, the student is eligible for certified nursing assistant exams and employment.
