The Nurse Aide Programs qualifies the individual to work in the hospitals, long term care units, nursing homes and other health care services. After completion of Certified Nurse Aide programs, the individuals are eligible to appear for the competency tests. Once they clear the test for the competency evaluation, CNA certificate is awarded and they can work in various health facilities under the supervision of Registered Nurse.

Nurse Aide Programs in Idaho

There are many Nurse Aide Programs offering training schools, technical institutes and private training schools in Idaho. These training facilities must follow federal approved training programs based on the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987. Previously only handful of States needed training of nursing aides but after the passage of OBRA in 1987, it has become compulsory for each States to establish state approved Certified Nurse Training programs.

The duration of Nurse Aide Programs is of 75 hours of mandatory trainings, which includes classroom instructions and practical trainings. The student should pass competency evaluation tests within 4 month of their employment. The federal law has made it necessary that theses trainings should be completed under the supervision of a registered nurse. This program consists of communication and interpersonal skills, nursing and caring of daily care needs of patients.

There are also free Nurse Aide Training Programs offered by various CNA training schools and institutes for low income individuals. Theses people can avail such facilities by approaching non profit organizations, who works toward the uplift of low income bracket people. Even grants, scholarships can be applied for free programs. The long term care units also sponsors candidates who are willing to work in their facility after completion of Nurse Aide Program.
