What type of Stethoscope is practical for a CNA ?

Mainly, the two important kinds of stethoscopes are acoustic stethoscope and electronic stethoscope.

Acoustic stethoscopes are the traditional types of stethoscopes we are all familiar with. They are operated by the transmission of sound waves from the chest piece through the hollow tubes filled by air, placed towards the ears. They are considered to be the most typical. The chest piece has two sides to be placed against the patients for listening, a diaphragm and a hollow cup.

Another type is the electronic digital stethoscope. It listens to the low sound levels by electronically amplifying body sounds. They are very efficient as they help the nurses having hearing difficulty to listen and detect the sounds properly. Various companies offer electronic stethoscopes.

So, the certified nursing aides can either choose from acoustic or electronic stethoscope whichever suits their needs the best.

What are the rights of CNA as an employee?

The various CNA rights as an employee can be summarized as follows:

The nursing aides have the right to practice in that manner which suits to the requirements of the society and to those who should receive care.

They have the right to practice in the environments that allow them to work according to the professional standards and the scope of practice which is legally authorized.

They have the right to practice in those environments that support ethical practices.

They have the right to openly advocate for themselves and their patients without fear.

They have the right to get the fair compensation for their work which suits to their academic preparation, experience, knowledge and responsibilities.

They have the right to work in the environments that are safe for themselves and their environments.

The nursing aides in all the medical settings have the right to negotiate, as individuals or collectively, for the conditions of their employment.

What is required to apply for a CNA Job in Indiana and what is the average salary offered?

In Indiana, one should have CNA certification approved by State Department of Health to practice nursing. After being certified, a nursing aide can work in any of the care facilities in Indiana.

The average salary of a nursing aide in Indiana is around $31000.

What are the tips to keep in mind while doing CNA study?

Here are some study tips for all CNA aspirants:

Browse numerous online guides on CNA study through your PC.

Avail candidate Practice Test packet and Candidate handbook from NNAAP, Prometric, Headmasters and other campus based and online schools.

Start using Flash Cards to remember important points, questions and answers.

Visit numerous Internet CNA forums and take part in the discussion and read about the advices and suggestions by other fellow students, experienced CNAs, educators and instructors.

Try to get proficiency in your nursing skills by practicing same on your near and dear ones.

Keeping in mind these CNA Study Guide tips, you can do well in your Certification test and can earn the title of certified.

Can you suggest a good book for CNA and Nursing aspirants?

As an important contribution, the Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes an important magazine for its youth known as Occupational Outlook Handbook. CNA students who want to pursue their career in nursing may go for “Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2010-11 Edition: Nursing and Psychiatric Aides”. This book will really help them in pursuing a good career in nursing and provides them information about various jobs in nursing.

There are many other details also included in this book such as information about training, qualifications, advancements, employment and job outlook. It also provides statistics about regarding the employment and earnings.

Should I consult my CNA text books only for the study, or any CNA reference Books are also available?

The best advantage that the students will get by having added reference books is they will be able to enhance their knowledge taught in the classroom study of the school. Many books are available, which will make the students know more about the roles of CNA and what they are required to do. Also, the textbooks provided by the CNA schools are written only to prepare students with the medical and practical knowledge required to pass the state competence examination held by the state. It will be best for the students to look for those books which are written by someone experienced in the medical field.

The books for CNA program published by Mosby or Lippincott are said to have authority on health related course books. So, if the CNA School does not prescribe the books published by them then it’s better for students to have an additional text book published by Mosby or Lippincott.

Education attained by the individuals along with the amount and quality of degrees obtained

Certification and licensure gained by the candidates by passing the examinations

Renewal as well as verification performed by the individuals.

What do you mean by CNA Classes? Why Certified Nurse Aide Classes are essential to work in any health care settings? By CNA Classes, we mean certified nurse aide training programs that are offered to individuals, who are aiming to work in health care facilities.

In United State of America, it is mandatory for any individual desiring employment in nursing field must complete state and OBRA-87 approved CAN Classes, appear for CNA certification test and earn Certification by passing the test, and get registered with specific state Nurse Aide Registry to get legal permission to work in various types of health care settings.

The reason that had prompted the federal authorities to lay down certain standards for the CNA training programs are due to the commitment of federal authorities to offer safe and quality health care to the citizens and, certified nurse aides must be qualified to provide the competent care and safeguard the public health by attending accredited CNA Classes.

The board of nursing education in Massachusetts is responsible for taking care of all health related issues in the state along with complete management of the educational facilities and other related things.

The range of services provided by the Massachusetts Board Nursing is quite wide and consists of the following main things:

Firstly, it is responsible for guiding as well as defining several rules and regulations for the nursing institutes in the state and making sure that they are following the things stated by the board

Then again, the board conducts the certification or licensure examination meant for becoming certified nursing assistants or licensed practical nurses

The facility for the renewal of certification as well as licensure is also provided by the board

Awareness related to the health issues is created by the nursing education board

All these tasks are accomplished with the help of various proficient and elite board members. These people not only take care of the working culture of the board but also make sure that every work is done with complete care to its fullest level.

As far as the educational services are concerned, the board provides following important guidelines to the nursing schools and universities:

All the institutes are required to follow the standard curriculum set by the nursing education board of Massachusetts so that the students are able to grab all the essential skills required to become an able nursing professional

Live training facilities are to be provided by the schools in order to make the candidates proficient to work at the professional environment and ready to face all challenges at the work place

Topics included in the syllabus of the nursing candidates are fundamentals of nursing, recording vital signs of patients, monitoring health records, performing administrative works like filling up the insurance forms, answering telephone calls and so on

Placement opportunities are to be provided to the deserving candidates

Instructors must be skilled and trained so that they can impart quality education to the applicants and help them in every possible way to become better nursing assistants

Presentations and seminars must be given to the candidates for evaluating their grasp of skills taught and accordingly awarding the marks to them

The regular as well as online training programs are required to follow all these guidelines for providing superior training to the applicants.

After the completion of training, the nursing assistants are supposed to give the certification examination for becoming certified nursing assistants. Some of the salient features about the exam are given below:

Duration of the test is approximately of 5-6 hours

Comprises of 2 tests, a written test followed by a skill test

Both tests must be passed with a minimum of 80% score in order to become certified.

The nursing education board helps in the renewal and verification of certification so that the candidates can continue in the professional life as long as they wish.

Hence, the profession of nursing is quite beneficial for the individuals for securing future and earning a considerable amount of money.
