CNA Secondary Schooling Requirements
Due to rising baby booms in the country, an immediate increase can be observed in the demand of the medical services. Numerous medical professionals are needed to meet the requirements of the people. A kind of professionals that satisfy the demands of the people is certified nursing assistants (CNAs). A certified nursing assistant is an individual that takes care of patients in hospitals and clinics under the supervision of Registered Nurse. Nowadays, the youth of the country is quite aware in adopting nursing as a profession.
There are certain CNA secondary schooling requirements that need to be fulfilled to become a successful certified nursing aide. A student must have a high school diploma or GED which can be taken by giving state GED exam to become eligible to apply for certified nursing aide program. It will be an add-on advantage for the student to have a background of biology or health sciences, but it is not at all mandatory.
After fulfilling these secondary school requirements, the student must apply for a course in the school of CNA. The course covers the necessary duties and responsibilities of a nursing assistant. Thereafter, the student has to go through clinical training in a hospital, nursing home or clinic. The clinical training includes hands on experience while taking basic and hygienic care of patients. The training includes measuring temperature and blood pressure of a patient, helping the patients in dressing, helping in bathing and various other jobs.
On completion of course and training, the student has to challenge the competency examination held by the state. It consists of two parts, written and performance tests. The written test consists of multiple choice questions asking about the services of nursing aide. The performance test is designed to examine the skills of nursing assistant.
So, it can be concluded that being a certified nursing aide can be taken as good profession to opt for.
