CNA Exam in West Virginia
In West Virginia, a nursing aide student can get CNA/RLTCNA/LNA certification by completing state and federal/OBRA approved West Virginia Nurse Aide Training program of West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, consisting of 65 hours classroom learning and 55 hours clinical/lab training. The successful completion of CNA training program makes a student eligible to sit for the competent evaluation test and certification, which facilitates listing with West Virginia Nurse Aide Registry, making him/her eligible to work legally in long term care units, hospitals, nursing homes, long term care units and health centers.
Exam Information
The candidate, who has completed Refresher Course program, gets 6 months grace period to pass the competency evaluation test and gets three opportunities to pass the test. But even after three attempts, if the candidate is unable to pass the exam then, he/she should undertake 120 hours training program once again.
Test Eligible candidate gets 2 years grace period and three opportunities to pass the exam. The unsuccessful candidate will have to complete the entire training once again.

Skill Test
The candidate will have to perform Hand Washing, along with additional skills, such as Measurement Recording, blood pressure measurement, counts and recording of Radial Pulse, Respiration recording Feeding and bed bath to the client, bed making, movement of the patient, Applying Antembolic Stockings, Denture, mouth and perennial care to female patient, proper use of bed pan, Donning and removing PPE (Gown and Gloves), Fluid Intake, client dressing and undressing, Ambulation with Gait Belt and Walker and so on.
