In America, it is essential for all schools and colleges to offer state and the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 approved CNA Training programs to aspiring CNA students. OBRA 1987 also require states to initiate, manage, regulate and maintain Nurse Aide Training, Competency Evaluation Test and Nurse Aide Registries to define training and evaluation standards for nurse aides who work in long term care units, hospitals, nursing homes and health care centers.

Rhode Island Department of Health carries the responsibility of CNA Classes in Pawtucket RI as per the federal regulation stipulations.

In order to get Certification in Pawtucket, a student must complete below given requirements put forward by Rhode Island Department of Health:

• Successful Completion of a state-approved training program of 100 hours total training.
• 20 hours clinical hands-on training

Clinical lab experience is completed with real patients, under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse. Classroom and clinical trainings prepare students for the CNA examination. The passing of certification test award them with certified title and listing with state Nurse Aide Registry.

In Rhode Island, following CNAs can also get enrolment in Nursing Aide Registry, provided they meet following requirements:

• Hold a current RN or LPN license
• Successful completion of a 100-hour accredited training program in another state.
• Certified as a CNA in another state

CNA from another state can apply to Rhode Island Department of Health to be listed in the Rhode Island CNA registry.
