In the United States of America, the admission of certain category of people in the nursing homes has been on the rise due to various factors leading to their nursing home admission.
In the present day it has been found that the most common predictors of nursing home admissions are people suffering from cognitive or impairment of behavior resulting from dementia, being diagnosed with depression and Alzheimer’s disease. Again many people are being readmitted to nursing homes after a sudden illness and surgery in other hospitals. These reasons make such people to depend on other people in coping, their everyday needs.
The basic factors that lead to predictors of nursing homes admission can be summed up as follows:
Cognitive Impairment
Mental disturbances or dementia due to depression and Alzheimer’s disease are common among the people. People suffering from these symptoms of Cognitive Impairment has problem in carrying out their customary daily living activities due to the gradual deterioration of intellectual abilities, change of emotional behavior, memory impairments and personality.
